Oakmont Carnegie Library – Temporary Closure Update (October 22–23, 2026)
The Oakmont Carnegie Library is temporarily closed following the discovery of bed bugs in a limited area of the building. Out of an abundance of caution, we will have the entire building professionally treated before reopening. We anticipate reopening on Saturday, October 24.
The safety and well-being of our patrons and staff remain our top priority. Following treatment, we will continue to professionally monitor the building on a regular basis to help identify and address any further concerns.
The library collection does not appear to be affected. But as a precaution, patrons with library materials currently at home may wish to check the covers, bindings, and creases of books for any unusual signs. If you notice anything that concerns you, please place the item in a sealed plastic bag and contact the library for guidance before returning it.
