Love Your Library

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

This September, during Love Your Library month, we invite you to show your support for the heart of our community—the Oakmont Carnegie Library.

Every day, your library serves as a welcoming place for discovery, lifelong learning, and connection. Whether it’s a child attending a story time and finding their first favorite book, a student using free internet access to complete homework, or a senior attending a book club, lives are enriched here—because of supporters like you.

Together with your support, let us share with you some of what we have accomplished this year:

  • OCL lent out over 60,000 books to residents. Our library card holders also borrowed approximately 20,000 eBooks.
  • Our historic building welcomed 92,000 visits and our talented staff and volunteers offered more than 200 free programs to the community with over 3,000 individuals in attendance.
  • We opened a play area space for our youngest patrons in the lower level of our library.
  • Multiple building projects have been happening including refurbishing the wooden doors of our original front entrance, resealing and repainting the exterior window trim, and a long term building improvement plan.

Thanks to the Jack Buncher Foundation, your gift to the Oakmont Carnegie Library made between September 1 and September 30 will be partially matched, increasing your impact and helping us grow programs, update collections, and maintain the beautiful historic building we all treasure.

Together, let’s celebrate and sustain the power of our library.

With grateful appreciation,

Your Oakmont Carnegie Library Board of Directors
